Rafting on the Nisava River

About Nisava River:
The river was named Navissos, by the Celtic inhabitants of region in 3rd century BC. Name was changed several times with each new conqueror.

The Nisava river starts in Bulgaria, close to border with Serbia and belongs to Morava confluence. Many settlements were developed on the banks of Nisava river. The biggest one in city of Nis, named after the river. About 20km from Nis the Nisava runs to the Morava river. Probably the most beautiful part of Nisava flow is the Sicevo Gorge. The river carved her bed through mighty massive of lime stones. There are two dams built into the gorge which are use for small electric plants.

Rhythm of the river is very changeable.  Some parts are very quite and water stay calm almost without moving. The next moment your both will move much faster and you will have to work to keep it on the right course.

Of course we will move downstream so your work on the boat will be more and less restricted on navigation. If you are not familiar with rowing we will use some time for practice. Rafting down the river we will occasionally get to shoals where we will have to go out from the boat and walk in the water.
During summer period temperature of water is very nice- about 21C so you are welcome to jump into water and swim.

We provide 4 and 6 persons inflatable river boats and lifejackets.

Note: All participants in rafting tours have to be able to swim.
