| ABOUT THIS AREA Just 30 km south-east from Nis you can find real paradise for hiking and mountaineering. Suva Planina (Dry Mountain) and Svrljsike Planine are some of the most beautiful mountains in Balkan. |
|
The north side of Dry mountain is
very steep with deep crags and rich beech forest below. On the other hand,
south side of Dry Mountain is smooth, but bare-wooded. Farther east of
Trem peak (1810m) outspreads the large high-lend plateau. Composition of
Dry Mountain is primary lime stoned and most of the mountain range above
1500m is dry without any water. |
There are no many mountain peaks in Serbia that you can compare with Trem, Sokolov Kamen, Mosor... They are easy accessible from southern sides but their northern parts are sharply cut. On summit you will find yourself on the age of cliff and you will enjoy unforgettable view.
